Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt together until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).
Add the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully incorporated.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers appear slightly underbaked. They'll continue to firm up as they cool.
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
