  • Ingredients:
  • - Sausage regular, spicy, or flavored
  • - Cream cheese block or spreadable
  • - Crescent rolls

Instructions

  • Cooking Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage thoroughly, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Once browned, remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage with cream cheese and any optional ingredients like onion or garlic powder. Mix well until fully incorporated.
  • Open the crescent roll dough and cut it into halves or quarters, depending on your preferred size for wrapping.
  • Take a piece of crescent roll dough, place a spoonful of the sausage and cheese mixture in the center, and pinch the edges together to seal the filling inside.
  • Arrange the filled crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they're spaced apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 11-14 minutes or until they're golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving with your choice of dipping sauces.
  • Extra Tips:
  • When preparing Donkey Balls, consider making a larger batch and freezing the uncooked ones for future use. Simply assemble the balls, freeze them on a baking sheet, and once solid, transfer them to a freezer-safe bag.
  • When you're ready to enjoy them, just bake directly from frozen, adding a couple of extra minutes to the cooking time. This makes it easy to have a delicious snack on hand whenever the craving strikes!
