Ingredients

  • Ingredients:
  • - 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • - 1 cup granulated sugar
  • - 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • - 2 large eggs
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • - 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • - 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • - 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes using a stand mixer or electric beaters.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers appear slightly underbaked. This will help maintain a chewy texture.
  • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them sit on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
