Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. This should take about 2-3 minutes using a stand mixer or electric beaters.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and sea salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart to allow for spreading.
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers appear slightly underbaked. This will help maintain a chewy texture.
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them sit on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
